The Global Coalition to Fight Financial Crime (GCFFC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Advocate Ouma Rabaji-Rasethaba as Chair of the GCFFC Africa Chapter.

Oct 14, 2025

Adv. Rabaji-Rasethaba brings over 30 years of distinguished legal and leadership experience in the fight against crime and corruption. She served as Deputy National Director of Public Prosecutions and Head of the Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) in South Africa, where she led national and cross-border efforts to disrupt criminal networks and recover illicit assets.

A proven leader in asset recovery and judicial reform, she has overseen landmark progress in South Africa’s fight against financial crime, including securing R5.9 billion in asset freezing orders in 2023–2024, much of it linked to “State Capture” corruption cases. Under her guidance, the AFU has advanced innovative legal strategies, including Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms to accelerate asset repatriation across jurisdictions.

Her academic credentials include a B Proc, LLB, LLM, Diploma in Company Law, and Advanced Company Law certifications. She is currently a PhD candidate at UNISA, researching reforms to strengthen legal frameworks against corruption.

In her role as Chair of the Africa Chapter, Adv. Rabaji-Rasethaba will lead the expansion of public–private collaboration across the continent, enhance cross-border enforcement partnerships, and drive implementation of effective frameworks to combat money laundering, corruption and illicit financial flows.

We are honoured to welcome her leadership to the GCFFC.
